RECENT INCIDENTS7/5/08 -- Dwelling Fire At 22:58 hours Station 3-13 was dispatched on a first alarm assignment with mutual aid companies to a Working Dwelling Fire on Buchland Road. The on duty West Earl Police Officer arrived and reported a fully involved Dwelling Fire. Deputy 3-13 arrived and confirmed a two story single family dwelling to be fully involved and assumed the command. Engine 3-13-1 arrived and hit the hydrant across the street from the dwelling and went in service with multiple hand lines as well as their deck gun. Mutual Aid Units from 3-5 (FARMERSVILLE), 1-2 (AKRON), 1-5 (EPHRATA), 1-15 (EPHRATA RESCUE) and 3-11 (UPPER LEACOCK) arrived and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. Ambulance 2-10 (ROTHSVILLE) was the EMS Unit on the scene. The last units cleared the scene at 02:44 hours. A big thank you to all the mutual aid companies for the assist.

6/30/08 -- Vehicle Accident At 20:20 hours Station 3-13 was dispatched along with Station 1-2 (AKRON) and EMS Units from Ephrata to a two vehicle injury crash in the 300 block of South 7th St. Crews from 3-13 and 1-2 assisted EMS with several patients while Fire Police shut down Rt.272 between North Conestoga View Drive and Oak St. until the incident was complete at 20:59 hours. 6/30/08 -- Barn Fire Assist At 18:36 hours Station 3-13 was dispatched as part of a First Alarm Assignment to assist Station 2-7 (NEFFSVILLE) at a reported Barn Fire on East Oregon Road. 3-13 units were placed available several minutes after arrival clearing at 18:47. 6/29/08 -- Dwelling Fire Assist At 22:00 hours Station 3-13 was dispatched with several other departments as part of a 2nd Alarm Assignment to assist Station 2-10 (ROTHSVILLE) at a working Dwelling Fire on Santa Fe Drive. 06-14-2008 -- Gas Spill At 18:52 hours Engine 3-13-1 was dispatched for spill control on Hawk Lane due to gasoline leaking from a vehicle. The Engine Crew applied absorbent to the spill clearing at 19:08 hours. 6/12/08 -- Silo Fire At 20:21 hours Station 3-13 was dispatched along with Truck 2-4 (EDEN) to a reported Silo Fire in the 3800 block of Oregon Pike. Deputy 3-13 arrived and confirmed it to be dust from the silo and placed the box available. 6/11/08 -- Working House Fire Assist At 04:53 hours Engine 3-13-1 was dispatched with several other departments to assist Station 3-11 (UPPER LEACOCK) at a working house fire on School Drive. Upon arrival Engine 3-13-1's crew assisted with salvage and overhaul until released at 06:20 hours. At 05:25 hours Traffic 3-13 was dispatched to the scene and shut down Rt.23 at Rt.772 until released at 07:07 hours. 6/10/08 -- Fire Police Assist With High Water At 22:09 hours Station 3-13 Fire Police were dispatched to shut down Rt.772 between Locust St. and Forest Hill Road due to high water over the roadway at Groffs Run. Fire Police remained on the scene until the arrival of Penndot at 00:22 hours. 6/10/08 -- Utility Shed Fire At 19:11 hours While Lancaster County was on storm alert a call was received for a building fire on Waterwheel Drive. 3-13 members were at station and heard the call on the scanner and responded before being dispatched. Deputy 3-13 arrived to find a working utility shed fire to the rear of a residence, the apparent cause of a lightning strike. Crews from 3-13 extinguished the fire clearing at 20:03 hours. While on the scene of this call Tanker 3-13 was requested to assist Station 3-9 (NEW HOLLAND) at a building fire on North Hollander Road. The Tanker responded and went available shortly after arrival. 6/10/08 -- Vehicle Accident At 10:58 hours Station 3-13 Fire Police were dispatched to assist Station 1-2 (AKRON) with traffic control at the scene of a two vehicle injury crash on South 7th St. in front of the Turkey Hill. Traffic Control was provided until the incident was complete at 11:43 hours. 6/6/08 -- Vehicle Accident At16:30 hours Station 3-13 was dispatched along with Ambulance 3-8-1 (LEOLA) to a two vehicle accident at Rt.272 and Rt.772. Engine 3-13-1's crew assisted EMS with one patient. While units were still on the scene a second accident occurred at the intersection with no injuries. The Company went available at 17:12 hours. 6/4/08 -- Vehicle Accident At 12:25 hours Station 3-13 was dispatched along with EMS units from 2-10 (ROTHSVILLE), 3-8 (LEOLA) and MEDIC 4 (ECH) to a vehicle accident at Rt.272 and Rt.772. Engine 3-13-1 with OIC Asst. Chief Nolt arrived to find a two vehicle injury crash with one patient confined. Engine 3-13-1's crew removed a door off one vehicle and assisted EMS with two patients clearing at 13:02 hours. For info on additional incidents please go to our Incidents Page.
